The White Swan is situated in Mansbridge, Southampton, backing on to a river full of fish and ducks. It is a large family welcoming pub with restaurant. The interior has recently been re-vamped in March 2009, leaving it with a modern look and feel.

The staff are quick to seat you and ensure you have a drink. As it is such a popular place to eat on a Sunday, there can be large queues for the carvery, but it is well worth the wait. The bill also arrives promptly when requested.

Our choice was the Sunday carvery, which had a choice of 3 different british meats, a wide variety of sauces, potatoes and vegetables, which were all of a high standard. The menu is varied, with light bites for the smaller appetites, and of course the carvery for a good fill. The carvery is £7.95 Monday to Saturday and £8.95 on Sundays.

One of two main seating areas can feel a bit cramped, we were unfortunately seated besides the walk way opposite the toilet. We asked to move from that table and were not the only ones. That being said the majority of the seating is fine, there is a spacious bar and lots of seating outside by the river.
